Abstract Tailoring the functionality of Polyether-ether-ketone (PEEK) is critical for enhancing its application, which can be accomplished by modification surface morphology and chemistry. In present work, we experimentally demonstrate correlation modified chemical composition textured PEEK 355 nm UV nanosecond pulsed laser ablation with enhanced wettability. Specifically, impact processing parameters on microgroove ablated quality evaluated, high precision grid textures uniform are fabricated. The elements functional groups further analyzed XPS spectra characterization, demonstrates substantial change C=O O–C=O bonds, as well freshly generated polar carboxylic acid groups.
